SUPPLEMENTARY ADMISSION NOTICE INVITING APPLICATIONS FOR ADMISSION IN THE 2-YEAR REGULAR MBA COURSE
Applications are invited from interested and eligible applicants for admission TO A FEW VACANT SEATS in the 2-year full-time MBA programme (session 2018-20). Information Brochure along with the Application Kit can be obtained in person from the Institute or downloaded from the Downloads link provided below. Application Fee: Rs. 500/-. Last date for submission of application forms: 17.07.2018. Applicants interested in applying are advised to first of all submit the Online Supplementary Application Form (OSAF) 2018. Upon submission, the students would immediately receive a PDF copy of the OSAF in their email which they need to print out on an A4 paper and submit along with other documents as detailed in the Application Checklist 2018 (available online as well as with the printed Application Kit obtainable from the admission counter at Institute).
The Online Supplementary Application Form (OSAF) window shall open on 16.07.2018 at 10:30 AM (Monday) and shall close on 17.07.2018 at 07:00 PM (Tuesday).

IMPORTANT! A valid score (not older than one year) in CAT / XAT / MAT / CMAT or ATMA is one of the mandatory requirements for admission at I.M.S., Ranchi University.
The minimum eligibility criteria for admission in MBA programme is graduation in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate. Students in the final year of their graduation can also apply subject to the condition that they must produce the evidence of the required qualification on or before the prescribed scheduled date, if selected. The reservation policy of the state government shall be strictly followed. Further, candidates will be short listed on the basis of their score in CAT / XAT / CMAT / MAT / ATMA (any one), past academic record, relevant work experience and the performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be organized by the Institute. In all matters relating to admission to the programme, the decision of the Institute will be final and binding on the applicants.
The printed Application Kit containing Information Brochure 2018, Primary Application Form 2018, Rules & Regulations 2018 & Checklist 2018 can be obtained in person from the Admissions Office, Institute of Management Studies, Ranchi University, Morabadi Campus, Ranchi – 834008, or downloaded from the website, www.ranchiuniversitymba.in. The Application Fee of Rs. 500/- (INR Five Hundred only) should be submitted in the shape of an a/c payee Demand Draft in favour of “VOCATIONAL A-1 MBA COURSE”, payable at RANCHI. The duly filled-in Application Form along with all the enclosures may be sent / submitted to the above address.
Candidates will be short listed on the basis of their score in CAT / XAT / CMAT / MAT / ATMA (any one), past academic record, relevant work experience and the performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview to be organized by the Institute. The CAT / XAT / CMAT / MAT / ATMA score should not be more than one year old from the date of submission of application.
The reservation policy of the Government of Jharkhand shall apply in admission and the benefit of the same shall be given to the candidates belonging to the State of Jharkhand only. The candidates of other states in the reserved category shall be treated as General category candidates.
In all matters relating to admission to the programme, the decision of the Institute shall be final and binding on the applicants.
Candidates will have to meet their own travel expenses for appearing in the GD & Interview session.
How to Apply – The Application Process in a Nutshell
IMPORTANT! All applicants interested in taking admission in the 2-Year Regular MBA Course are advised to first of all submit the Online Supplementary Application Form (OSAF) 2018. Upon submission, the students would immediately receive a PDF copy of the OSAF in their email which they need to print out on an A4 paper and submit along with other documents as detailed in the Application Checklist 2018 (available online as well as with the printed Application Kit obtainable from the admission counter). Students are advised to check the Junk / Spam folder of their email accounts in case they do not receive the OSAF PDF copy in their Inbox.
Only the computer generated and valid caste, income and residential certificates shall be accepted that can be verified online at the Jharkhand E-District / CSC / JharSewa portal of the Govt of Jharkhand.
We have noticed that the applicants in general do not read the rules and regulations carefully. We strongly advise all applicants to read the Rules & Regulations 2018 of the Institute (available online as well as with the Application Kit) carefully before submitting their application at the Institute.
Please use one, full-length, running-hand signature at all places and all documents. Your application may be rejected if it’s noticed that you have signed differently at different places. Please avoid using initials.
Programme Fee (for the 2-Year Regular MBA Course)
- Rs. 20,000/- Per Semester (General & OBC Categories)
- Rs. 15,000/- Per Semester (SC & ST Categories) – subject to the applicant being a domicile of Jharkhand with valid Caste, Income and Residential certificates.
(The Programme Fee is payable at the beginning of each semester)

The Information Brochure along with the Entire Application kit is available at the admission counter of the Institute and can be obtained on payment of application fee of Rs. 500/- by way of a/c payee Demand Draft in favour of “VOCATIONAL A-1 MBA COURSE”, payable at RANCHI.
If you wish to print the Primary Application Form and other documents, you are advised to use legal-size paper (216 x 356 mm).
If you are an outstation candidate intending to send the documents through post / courier, please do not forget to enclose two self-addressed stamped envelopes of size 4” X 9” (with postal stamps worth Rs. 40 affixed) along with other documents and testimonials.
